Beach Wedding Couple

An invitation to a beach wedding will be different from the one you would send out for a traditional wedding. The one thing that brings the difference is the dressing. But why is this an important thing to consider? Well, for one, your beach wedding is likely the first for most of your guests; and informing them on what to expect and what to wear can go a long way into helping them prepare. Here is how you come up with your beach wedding dressing code.

There is no doubt you would want your guests to be comfortable throughout the ceremony and helping them to know what to wear is one of the ways to ensure their comfort. So, how do you choose the best dressing code for your beach wedding that would suit everyone on the guest list? We have come up with a list of factors to consider that will help you decide on the most appropriate beach dressing attire.

The Weather

Of course, the first thing to consider when picking any piece of clothing to wear is the weather. Will the day be hot and sunny or is it likely to be cold? While it is true that most beach weddings take place during the summer or in the tropics where the weather is favorably hot, it will be fallacious to assume that none can be held during the cold seasons of the year.

You don’t want to have your visitors dressed in warm clothes on a hot and sunny day, and neither would it be proper to have them in light attire on a cold and chilly day. This calls for adequate preparations to ensure that you know the weather of the destination you choose for your beach wedding.

The Wedding Theme

What theme do you choose to go with? Would you like your beach wedding dressing code to be in line with the theme? These are some of the questions you need to ask yourself if you want to choose the best dressing code for your beach wedding. If, for example, you want to have a Hawaiian beach wedding, then you might decide to have your guests dressing in Hawaiian styles. If you’re going to have it formal, let them know as well.

Your Style

Without considering the theme of the wedding but the weather, it is not unusual for couples to choose the dressing code they want for their wedding. This can be based on your personal style which to most couples is a beach-casual outfit that goes with the relaxed feeling of the beach. Also, some may choose that gentlemen should wear shorts at the wedding, or women to have short dresses. Besides, some couples want their guests in flip-flops for the sand.  Whichever the case, you can stick to your style and still look appropriate for your beach wedding.

Mention the Sand

It will be an injustice to complete the list without talking about the right footwear for the beach wedding. This is not necessarily important for your beach wedding dressing code but is imperative. Inform your guests that they will be walking in the sand and should, therefore, put on ideal footwear. You can also go ahead and mention that flat shoes are the best for the sand.
