Top Tips for a Destination Wedding

Planning a destination wedding? Brilliant! These are some of the more memorable weddings that you can have. Getting married outside makes for some great photograph opportunities, and your guests are going to have an amazing time. Hopefully these tips will help you out!

Picking The Perfect Spot For Your Wedding

It is likely that you already have some idea of the type of area that you wish to hold your wedding. You may want a beach wedding. You may want to get married in a massive field surrounded by gorgeous hills. You may want to get married outside of a gorgeous building. Make sure you know what you want. However, you will also want to think about your guests. If you are getting married out of the country, then it is likely that your guests will need to spend a lot of money and travel to you, they may even need to take many days away from work. You need to see whether this is something that is going to be feasible.

Timing of the Beach Wedding

One of the major issues you will have is that you are likely to want to book that destination wedding during the warmer months. This means that it in most locations, this is going to be tourist season. There will be fewer venues, less hotels, and the whole thing will be a bit more crowded. This means that you are going to need to book well in advance. If you can book out of season, then do so. You may be sacrificing a couple of degrees in temperature, but you will also be saving a substantial amount of cash too.

Remember; during the warmer months, you are also going to need to wear slightly different clothing. This means tropical wedding clothes. If you wear your traditional suits and the like, you are going to boil.

Check Local Requirements

It is important that you check marriage requirements where you are holding your destination wedding. Some may require you to be a resident in the area for a short period before you can get married. For example; if you opted to get married in England, you would need to stay there for 7 days before your wedding. If you got married in France, then it is a whopping 40 days, so probably not going to be ideal for a destination wedding!

Get a planner

Finally; make sure that you get a planner in. Yes, we know that they are going to cost money, but they may save you a lot of aggravation and stress. When you are planning a wedding, there are a lot of things that you may end up forgetting about. It is important that you opt for a wedding planner in the country that you are planning on getting married in too. They will be able to speak in the local language, which means they will be able to get decent ‘deals’ on everything related to the wedding.
